Seventeen Health Editor Kim Tranell visited Syracuse Ed2010 on Friday, November 12, to talk about her job and what she thought worked in successful cover letters and resumes. Kim revealed that she wrote or directly worked on 90 percent of all Seventeen stories in her section. Kim emphasized ownership of a journalistic niche and the importance of branding. Above all, she said that, no matter what field of journalism you’re involved in, it always pays off to be enthusiastic about something — even if it’s not necessarily the magazine where you’re interning or working. People feed off of others’ passion and positivity.
